5 minutes of darkness....

0712 woke up and went to the toilet
.....just when i am done and stood up
..... it was not like before
..... suddenly... darkness
... i can see nothing (i am serious)
i felt my way back to my bedroom.... when i closed the door and sat down on the icy floor..... i couldn't think what's wrong with me.... i don't know what to do
i wanted to yell but was too terrified.... i was doomed.
could i have lost my vision by that moment? i don't know
or my brain just can't function that time due to the high fever
i don't know..... all i can do that time....to WAIT
but still... thank God... i manage to see AGAIN
the time was 0718... according to my cellphone
around five minutes of darkness eh? no.... it was like a century............... to me.
*oh yeah, any "bio people" pls tell me what's wrong with me if you know*

lesson learnt :)

let just start off with the dim lit dawn of good friday. My catholic roommate had reminded me this early morning that today is good friday and to them it's also a fasting day (fast as in go vegetarian). I said to myself after hearing that... "nah... no big deal, one day without meat nia... won't dai wan... i sure can make it wan... bla bla" but later, in the afternoon, i went out for lunch with my housemate and we hit straight to Mcdonald (*they're having special rate for 4 sets of lunch) I ended up with a beef burger and some fries. I wasn't aware to realise that today i was supposed to fast neither do i remember about what i've just said this early morning to myself until.... (back to hostel after lunch) roommate:'what you had for lunch' me:'i went to mcdonald.' (still not realizing XD) roommate:'mcdonald?? what you ate there?!' me:' double cheese burger lorh." (not till the point of realization yet T_T) roommate:'haaaah?? today is fasting day la. you're not supposed to eat meat!' self monolog: "oh my God...". well that's how i came to realise about the fact that i ate meat today. after some moments full of regrets... the lesson behind this happening started to surface. First, we humans fell so easily into temptation, a form of sin, whether with intention or not. Secondly, we humans are not strong or righteous enough to resist temptation and to free our soul from sins. THAT'S THE REASON WHY JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED. Good friday is a vivid reminders of how Jesus suffered so we might know freedom. His victory at the cross came at a great cost. The shedding of God's one and only son's blood. No one can earn salvation, because the blood of Christ is the only sufficient sacrifice for sin (Hebrews 9:22)... afterall, what is the price we must pay? This new life we have in Christ doesn't mesh with the world or the desires of our flesh. Something must die. Either we crucify what cannot sustain us in order to truly live in Christ, or we remain 'death' in order to hold on to what will eventually destroy us.

Architect of the month- January 2009

tatatatadang~~ He is PAUL M. RUDOLPH
well well....

Personal information

Paul Marvin Rudolph (Octover 23, 1918 in Elkton, Kentucky – August 8, 1997 in New York, New York) was an American architect and the dean of the Yale School of Architecture for six years, known for his cubist building designs and highly complex floor plans. His most famous work is the Yale Art and Architecture Building (A&A Building), a spatially complex Brutalist concrete structure.

Education

Rudolph earned his bachelors's degree in architecture at Auburn University (then known as Alabama Polytechnic Institute) in 1940 and then moved on to the Harvard Graduate School of Design to study with Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius. After three years, he left to serve in the Navy for another three years, returning to Harvard to receive his master's in 1947.

I like this, particularly.......

Paul's penthouse at new york city.....

vision of urban sophistication... steel, polished white plastic, marble in a dizzying complex space... cool huh. "architect should build silly things they have an itch to do and wouldn't do for clients" Paul once said. The varying and layers of the ceiling's height is a distinctive feature of this penthouse design. The transparent ceiling conducts natural light into the space to the core of his house despite of balancing the direct sun from east and west. The sunlight will a a main problem for glass houses causing stuffy internal heating in the day. In a nutshell, this is a stunning design for it's open to water, sky and sun, amenities most people have to leave the city to enjoy it. Serenity in alert to the buzzing big city~ yea!
